Accounts adjunct:Accounts Assistant Child Poverty Action GroupJob description:Job DescriptionChild Poverty Action Group is seeking a part-time finance whiz to support our vision of an Aotearoa where all children flourish free from poverty.We are seeking for someone who is interested to use their eye-for-detail, head for numbers and heart for children to work with us. The function may suit a parent looking to return to the workforce or a person who requires a work-from-home option, although office space is available in the Auckland CBD if required. We strongly encourage people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances to apply. The function can be done remotely and the days of work and time is negotiable but will be between 5-7 hours per week, up to 28 hours per month at a rate of $30 p/h. You will be part of an enthusiastic, supportive and committed team. The purpose of this function is to support the CPAG Treasurer and Executive Director in ensuring our finances are kept in tip-top shape. Key parts of the function include: » Processing payments, invoices and reimbursements accurately and within expected time periods » Performing reconciliations of accounts » Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections where appropriate » Preparing monthly accounts for Management, including month end Journals » Recording and tracking earnings from multiple sources including membership fees, donations and grants » Assisting the Treasurer with preparation of Annual Accounts for audit, in conformity with Public Benefit Entity Simple Format Reporting – Accrual (Not-For-Profit) » Assisting Treasurer and ED with preparation of Annual Budget » Reviewing transactions for errors and accuracy and make corrections. To be prosperous in this function you will have: » Sound accounting knowledge, and practice in accounting or finance functions » Proven practice, knowledge and knowledge of financial systems » The capability to work in Xero with ease » The capability to navigate the Microsoft Office suite » Strong digital expertise: confidence in navigating and learning online software products including credit card payment gateways, CRM software and website CMS systems » An eye for detail and demonstrate excellent accuracy with figures » The capability to build and maintain effective relationships, to provide quality advice and to share your knowledge. » The capacity to plan and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines. » A high degree of personal integrity. » A strong commitment to eliminating child poverty in New Zealand, compatible with CPAG's mission. » A availability to lgain and develop new expertise To apply, please send your CV and a short cover letter to [email protected] Skills:
