If you're both a visionary and a practical manager who can lead the team while developing and implementing projects to improve the workings of the Shelter and our engagement with vulnerable people in precarious housing, then we want to hear from you. The Dunedin Night Shelter Trust (DNST) operates a Night Shelter seven nights a week for men and women, as well as providing transitional housing in Phoenix Lodge (next door) for men exiting prison. The manager's function is exciting and varied working with some of the most vulnerable in our community, providing an essential service. Our small, committed group of staff ensures that people who need our services have emergency accommodation that is warm, dry, safe and clean. We also support vulnerable people to find permanent accommodation and develop self-determination. The manager’s function is to manage the Shelter, supervise the development of our outreach services to connect with and provide support to vulnerable people in the community and to advocate for and build a network to eradicate homelessness in our city. We are seeking for an practicedmanager/administrator with proven practice as a manager of teams along with some practice in the social sector. You will have the capability and desire to work both strategically and operationally on a day-to-day basis. A commitment to and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is essential. The function is 30-40 hours a week (negotiable). The income is also negotiable within a$70,000 -$80,000band,depending on expertise and practice.
