Competence in performing needle EMG and/or reporting paediatric EEG constitutes an advantage towards a prosperous application, but is not an absolute requirement. The advertised position does not feature on call tasks outside office working hours. The Neurology service provides a high standard of specialist clinical practice and skills. Information technology contributes to the provision of efficient and effective neurology and neurophysiology services to the community and region served by MidCentral Health. Support is provided to primary health and community located care providers. The service is supported by three neurologists, one registrar and one senior house agent, three neurophysiology technicians, one neurology nurse, and efficient secretarial and administration support. The department offers regular meetings with Neuroradiology and Neurosurgery, as well as teaching, research, and learning opportunities. Information technology also features an active MS treatment centre including the most modern infusion therapies, regular Motor Neuron Disease MDT meetings, TIA clinic slots, and an active Botulinum Toxin Clinic.
