The job will include more than vineyard work, also helping with general farm and garden tasks like weed strimming, lawn mowing ect. We want someone to live on the farm and help with everything to do with farming and growing and maintaining this beautiful place. You need to be responsible, happy, motivated, and motivating! With a sense of humor and not shy. We can discuss the start date and I can be flexible on this, we would require a 1-week trial to see that we are both happy. Please understand farming is a lifestyle choice and not a 9 to 5 job so be ready for anything. this function would suit Somebody with an interest in wine and growing. About us Brick Bay Wines is a 200-acre farm with a 3.5ha vineyard, restaurant, and world-renowned sculpture trail in the Matakana area about an hour north of Auckland city. P lease have a look at our web site www.brickbay.co.nz to lgain a bit about us ! We will have several backpackers staying with us over the summer in a variety of jobs from the restaurant to the farm. This job is only for the farm. Vineyard The vines need attention and there will be a lot going on over the next months, lifting wires, shoot selection and vine training. Farm Pigs and chickens to feed daily. We have just started lambing and need help with feeding lambs that are struggling, Planting, weeding, mulching, and maintaining our 200 plus acres of Farm, native bush and gardens. We have several buildings to maintain and keep clean. Sculpture trail The sculptures trail needs weekly maintenance to provide an amazing practice for our guests to enjoy, we will be installing art so assisting with this as required. Accommodation We have a 10 bed backpackers’ accommodation on the farm (3 twin rooms and a 4 bed dorm room) and part of the job will be keeping the place clean and tidy etc. The pay We will supply accommodation on Brick Bay Farm including hot showers, laundry, endlessWi-Fi, fully equipped kitchen and more for 1 hour of voluntary help each day, Monday to Friday. We will then pay you for the remaining 7 hours at $21.60 per hour including holiday pay. Paid overtime may be required occasionally. We work 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
