Job Offer: Interim Lead Hospital and Specialist Services:Ministry of HealthJob description:Job Description» This is a once in career opportunity to help shape New Zealand’s future Hospital and Specialist Services» You will play a key function in formulating the strategy and plans for Hospital and Specialist Services reporting to the Chief Executive » The function will have responsibility for managing the functions charged with delivering the new operating model for Hospital and Specialist Services iHNZ is inviting Expressions of Interest from senior personnel from the New Zealand Health sector with in-depth expertise, high levels of skills and proven practice in Hospital and Specialist Services to join Health New Zealand in this key senior function. The scope and key deliverables of the function include the following: » Developing the Day One operating model for Hospital and Specialist Services » Setting out the pathway from the current operating model to the future operating model » Management of the functions transferring from the Ministry of Health to Health New Zealand including infrastructure, DHB monitoring, Procurement and HSS functions You will need to be able to demonstrate the capability to prosperously lead change in a complex environment at a national level while maintaining high levels of service delivery. You will be supported by the Interim Clinical Lead for Hospital and Specialist Services with whom you will work in close partnership. Reforming New Zealand’s health system The Minister of Health has committed to a significant reform to New Zealand’s health system, underpinned by major changes to our system’s structure and operating model. The changes will reduce fragmentation, strengthen leadership abilities and accountcapability and improve equity of access and results for all New Zealanders. The deliverables you will be responsible for are a critical component of achieving these results. Te Tiriti o Waitangi The programme of work is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and all functions will involve engagement with diverse stakeholders, and working with M?ori to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The function This is a full-time function, Information technology will be to 30 June 2022 and Information technology can either be a secondment or a fixed-term appointment. This is a national team but flexible working form anywhere in NZ is possible. The function will involve national travel.
