Inside the walls of ?The Shed? is a diverse and dynamic company of 60 permanent staff plus hundreds of artists and artisans who produce 19 productions each year. Over 150,000 ticket buyers enter The Court each year to feast on the varied offering of theatrical works, all created and produced on-site.The Court has matched the ever-diversifying Christchurch population and creates and supports work for everyone in our community including children and families, for the Tangata Whenua and for Christchurch's growing Pasifika communities. We require a full-time or part-time flexible, skilled and creative carpenter/builder/metal worker, or similar, to join the team at The Court Theatre. Here at The Court we build all of those magnificent sets and props that are a huge and important part of our exceptional storytelling. We are seeking for someone who has a commitment to creative excellence and who can deliver on work requests and problem solve. Information technology will be an advantage to have worked in a creative or theatre setting, but at the very least, to have an affinity for what we do and create. You will work as part of a team, but also work independently on projects. We will need you to have flexibility in your working week as evenings and weekends may be required. Essential expertise/Qualifications » expertise of metal materials. » appropriate welding tickets for structural welding such as 2980 or 9606 and an capability to weld in all positions. » Carpentry practice. » expertise of building materials. » practice of workshop tools (from hand tools to panel saws). » Information technology expertise including capability to Apps and Microsoft Outlook as a minimum. » Proactive and self-motivated. » Full driver's license. Desirable expertise/Qualifications » Theatre practice. » Working at heights. » EWP/Scissor lift. » Engineering background. » First Aid Certificate. candidates should apply through Seek.
