There are two opportunities to further develop the programme and be part of exciting new work to focus on what matters for people and whanau as we work to improve the quality of our health and discapability system. We are undertaking a joint work programme with the Health Transition Unit at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to develop the foundations of the new consumer and whanau voice framework – a key aspect of prosperous implementation of the reforms. A key focus of these functions will be working as part of the Partners in Care team to achieve prosperous implementation of these foundational components. While Wellington-located is preferred, applications from across Aotearoa will be considered. We are pursuing: »A consumer engagement advisor (Maori): Your function will include providing advice and guidance to ensure that consumer and whanau voices are central to the work in the Partners in Care programme and meet the responsibilities and obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. »A consumer engagement advisor (Pacific): Your function will include providing advice and guidance to ensure that Pacific consumer voices are central to the work in the Partners in Care programme and meet the responsibilities and obligations to Tagata o le Moana, staff and key stakeholders. All positions in the Partners in Care team must build and maintain strong relationships with consumers and whanau and work together with them to shape both the programme, and the Commission’s direction more broadly. The Commission The Commission is a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for assisting providers across the whole health and discapability sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore results for all those who use these services in New Zealand.
