About the function
A full-time permanent position has become available to join the clinical team that provides quality assessment and therapeutic support to young people resident at Te Poutama ?rahi Rangatahi and Specialist Group Homes all over Te Waipounamu.
Key tasks and responsibilities include the following:
   » Assessment and therapeutic support aimed at reducing frequency and/or severity of identified behaviours
   » Development and continuing review of intervention and safety plans for rangatahi
   » Delivery of individual, group and family therapy ensuring therapeutic approach
   » Provision of quality clinical supervision and training to residential staff including DDP
   » Key liaison with CBT providers – provide oversight of clinical reporting
   » Case consultations/clinical supervision
expertise and practice required include the followng:
   » Masters qualification in a recognised health profession (preferably psychology)
   » Post-graduate study and/or demonstrated in-depth practice working in a therapeutic setting desirable
   » Eligibility for membership with an appropriate professional body
   » Ethical and effective clinical and therapeutic planning, assessment and treatment practice of youth (ideally those who have engaged in harmful sexual and/or violent offences)
   » capability to build enduring professional relationships with young people, whanau/ families, staff and community
   » Have a sound knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
   » Familiarity with M?ori and/or Pacific languages (desirable)
   » Great communication expertise, with capability to relate well to a wide variety of people in both oral and written format
   » Strong organisational, professional and time management expertise
   » Full clean NZ driver’s licence required
