Mana kawanatanga ? r?he The Local Government Commission is an independent body established by legislation and its main functions are to promote good local government, make decisions on the structure of local authorities and their electoral representation.
As a Project Administrator you will provide general and financial administrative support in conjunction with planning, logistics and continuous process improvement to support the Commission through its 2024/25 representation review work. On any given day you might be:
   » Facilitating consultation processes including managing correspondence, public notices and handling submissions
   » Setting up commission and stakeholder meetings and building relationships across the country
   » Managing travel and accommodation arrangements
   » Capturing and improving processes and procedures
   » Providing financial and procurement support
The dynamic of working for an independent body which also forms part of a larger whole is fascinating.To succeed in this function you must have:
   » practice providing efficient and proactive administrative and financial support to individuals and teams
   » Self-motivation and a passion for using your initiative
   » Great organisational, communication and relationship management expertise
   » knowledge of the power of working as a team
The people who make up the Commission are located across the country and much of our work is conducted virtually so you may be located anywhere in New Zealand. However, travel for some in-person engagements is required.

Each ?enterprise' has its own unique kaupapa, and through its ?partnership' with Te Tari Taiwhenua, will be supported to achieve their goals. The nature of each partnership will depend on the goals and needs of the entity.
