Farm adjunct:Job description:Farm adjunctPayment: Accommodation & Paid ($45,000)Job location: Culverden Region: Christchurch & Canterbury practice: No practice Necessary Listing Added: 12/03/2021 Welcome to Pahau Reserve Ltd, We are seeking for someone to join our 3-4 person team on our 500 cow dairy farm by the 1st of June. This is a full-time, permanent posisition. The farm is 160 ha and cows are milked through a 40 bail herringbone shed. This means we have 2 people miking and shifting the cows through the shed each morning and afternoon. Other tasks of the farm adjunct include but not limited to: setting fences, shifitng k-line irrigation, general farm maintenance, feeding calves and cows, and ensuring the shed and farm are kept at a high standard. The roster we found to work the best is 8 days on, 2 days off, 8 days on, 3 days off and between 45 and 50 hours a week. Accommodation is an on-farm 3 bedroom furnished cottage. You will be sharing this wth one other person between August and December. We are only 5 minutes to Culverden township where there is Four Square, local pub, takeways, and a wonderful cafe. Culverden also has many sports goups including rugby, squash, tennis, hockey, and more. We are also only 35 minutes away from Hanmer Springs, which is home to the hot pools, endless bars and restaurants, live music, skiing, music and arts groups, mountain biking and anything else you can imagine. We do not require any farm practice, but sucessful canidates will be eager to learn, adaptable, good communicator, punctual, patient, level-headed, efficient, and a great team player. As this is an active job, being physically fit is a must. You must be in New Zealand currently, able to legally drive a manual vehicle in New Zealand, and communicate in English. Any farming practice, espcially dairy, is a huge bonus! Extra bonus if you can drive a 2 wheeler and are comfortable around large animals. Looking forward to hearing from you, Colm O'Kane Skills:
