About our group and team In the Strategy, Planning and Governance – Te Ohu Rautaki group, we help coordinate and supervise organisational planning and strategy, and specific priority initiatives. We work with Ministers to support delivery of the Ministry’s work programme. We provide legal advice and facilitate communications and risk management across the organisation to foster public trust and confidence. The Corporate Strategy and Performance Hub (CSP) – Ng? Tautiaki Whakamahere, is responsible for leading the development of the Ministry’s organisational strategy and ensures senior leaders and boards receive insight and advice that supports the Ministry shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results. The Planning and Performance team is a small, high performing team, operating in a flexible working environment with great opportunities to lgain more about the Ministry of Education and the wider education sector. The team leads the development of internal and external strategy, planning and reporting documents, supporting the Ministry to agree priorities and report an evidence-located performance story. About this function In this function you will have the opportunity, as part of the Planning and Performance team, to: » lead the development of various Ministry’s accountcapability documents (Annual Report, Statement of Intent, Estimates, quarterly reports to Ministers) » provide facilitation, thought leadership abilities and advice to improve planning, performance measures and connected reporting across the Ministry » work with your colleagues in CSP, across the Ministry and the sector to provide advice and support the implementation of the Ministry’s strategic intentions and their contribution to improved educational results About you You will have: » practice with public sector strategy, planning and reporting processes, preferably in a large complex organisation » a good knowledge of the machinery of government and overall budgeting and accountcapability processes » the capability to work collaboratively across a variety of areas in the Ministry to help shape and communicate high quality advice. You will also offer: » strong communications expertise with the capability to prepare reports and other documents for a range of audiences » great relationship management expertise and the capability to build and sustain networks (internally and externally) » strong analytical and problem solving expertise » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
