This is a full-time, permanent position, 32 to 40 hours a week with the option to work fully remotely. About this function As part of our technology team you'll: » architect projects, tools, and development workflows internally and for our clients » work closely with others in the technology team to ensure all work meets our high standards and follows established best-practice processes and methodologies » work closely with your squad to efficiently deliver client projects that meet the required results » support the team in developing, maintaining, and documenting our frameworks, tools, and code libraries » seek out opportunities for us to create reusable code » help train others, provide significant and useful input, and review the work of your peers and juniors » help clients and other Springloaders understand the issues around projects, and enable them to communicate these clearly » build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders and clients to enable collaboration and achieve results in line with Springload's business goals » understand and live by secure coding best practices » work independently with strong ownership of your work. Required expertise and practice We're looking for someone who has: » significant programming practice in one or more current programming languages such as Python, PHP, Ruby or Javascript » excellent MV* web framework practice - Django is preferred but others like Laravel or RoR would also be useful » practice with one or more CMS, ideally Wagtail or Silverstripe » fundamental knowledge of *.nix located environments: POSIX, package management and common tooling » clear communication expertise, especially when explaining technical concepts » solid knowledge of development design patterns and principles, and capability to apply them » practice with the software development lifecycle, including agile and waterfall methodologies » excellent knowledge of Git and common Git workflows, continuous integration, issue trackers and pull request workflows.
