Thisposition will suit someone who can work independently, balancing multiple competing demands and priorities. As well as a broad and deep knowledge of art, you will also have strong networking skills and existing professional relationships that will assist in growing the profile of the Sarjeant Gallery. You will operate strategically, managing the Gallery and a team of professionals. Integral to the success of this function is a demonstrable knowledge of local government processes, and an capability to maintain and grow the key relationships among the stakeholders and Iwi partners who are invested in the Sarjeant Gallery and the redevelopment project. You will be located at the Sarjeant Gallery on Taupo Quay until the redevelopment at Pukenamu Queen's Park is complete. The prosperous applicant will need to possess: » significant qualification(s) in Art History or an equivalent » practice leading and managing teams with diverse skills and technical skills » A professional attitude with strong communication skills » Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills » A high level of accuracy and attention to detail » Demonstrate a "customer first" culture within the team, group and wider organisation. You will need a minimum of 5 years' practice in a similar senior position, with a significant tertiary qualification.
