About our group Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day. Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child. About the function You will support the development and implementation of the planning frameworks to support long term investment planning decisions to upgrade schools to meet the government’s objectives, this will form the basis of the investment plan. You will also support the annual budget process for EIS which will involve working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop robust budget initiatives to be considered by Treasury, Ministers and Cabinet. This is a challenging function that requires you to make connections across busy teams, allocate work, supervise deadlines, contact across groups and engage with different regional offices. About you You will have exceptional relationship expertise and the proven capability to write clear, unambiguous, robust reports, and Cabinet papers. These will clearly outline the Ministry’s rationale for investment decisions that stand up to internal and external scrutiny and reflect well on the EIS group.
