About our group and team You will be part of our Cyber Security team within our ICT Assurance group. We deliver a well-connected, efficient and effective cyber security assurance and operations capcapability that enable our people to do their best work every day in a safe and secure manner. The Security Operations Centre must be seen as the centre of excellence for a range of stakeholders. Information technology also collaborates across government and the Education Sector as a whole, there is always something interesting going on! About this function We are seeking for a Cyber Threat Analyst to support the Ministry with its work protecting Schools and the wider Education System. This is a fascinating opportunity to join an existing SOC team and help widen its function from an internal facing to one covering the entire education system. This is a technical function that requires an excellent knowledge of all aspects of Cyber Security operations, service design, delivery and assurance and good communication (written and verbal). In your function, you will be responsible for the following: » Co-ordinating between internal and external parties during incidents, including providing advice and direction for multiple stakeholders » Working under the pressure of an on-going cyber incident » Identifying root cause problems and advising mitigations and long-term fixes » Continuously developing processes and response procedures to improve cyber security response » Promoting proactive and protective solutions and practices » Engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders at both technical and executive levels » Acting as a calming and supportive influence during stressful times for schools About you As an ideal candidate, you will ideally have a background in a SOC or other operational security function. Most importantly, you’re passionate about Cyber Security with a desire to lgain and share your knowledge with others. You will also offer as follows: » Prior operations security knowledge, including common attack patterns and mitigations » The capability to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, developing relationships at senior levels » Excellent communication expertise and the capability to present your ideas through high quality written and verbal advice, often at short notice and under pressure » capability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment » capability to research and resolve complex problems » The capability to demonstrate your motivations to work in an environment that is committed to benefit our education system.
