Do you want to be a part of the only team of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere? Don't mind a bit of hard graft? Join us as a Stoker/Boiler operator on board our century old coal fired steamship, The TSS Earnslaw.
About the function
You will be responsible for hand fuelling the fires, operating the engines and boilers that power the TSS Earnslaw and assisting with the safe and efficient operation of this historic vessel.
Dedicated training when you start enables you to get to know the job, the TSS Earnslaw and most importantly the tight team you will be working alongside. You'll get stuck in where needed and assist in all operations of the boat from decks to dishes. As we are a seven day a week operation this function includes early morning starts, evening shifts and weekend work.
As part of this function you will:
   » Provide fuel for the TSS Earnslaw's fireboxes
   » Attend to the boilers, engines and auxiliary equipment
   » Respond to guest queries regarding history and workings of the TSS

   » Drivers licence preferred
   » You'll need to be physically fit and hardworking
   » Proactive and willing to help in other areas
   » Motivated personality who is not afraid to get stuck in and get the job done
