Coordinator, Care and Protection – full-time, fixed-term, Tokoroa, Bay of Plenty
Do you want to play an important function in securing a better pathway for our tamariki and rangatahi from a coordination perspective? Join a supportive team at our Tokoroa site and grow your coordination practice to new heights.
What you will do?
   » Manage care and protection Family Group Conferences (FGC) within the spirit of Puao-te-Ata-tu and its operational intent – the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1989
   » Understand, apply and embrace the principles of the Act
   » Champion the alignment of the principles and practices outlined in the Oranga Tamariki Indigenous and Bicultural Framework with FGC practice
   » Lead FGC practice with the Oranga Tamariki team
   » Ensure all members of whanau, hapu, iwi and family groups, who wish to attend, are able to do so
   » Facilitate conferences in partnership with all stakeholders to decide and develop a pathway in relation to care and protection
   » Review the decisions and recommendations of the FGC and reconvene if required

What team you will work with?
Our Tokoroa team is caring and supportive of each other. We love sharing home-cooked meals during monthly shared lunches, where we relax and have a bit of a laugh together. We watch out for each other’s well-being by reminding each other to take breaks and participating in healthy activities together. We are even thinking about entering the Tough Guy and Tough Girl challenges next year. You will be joining a team that doesn’t just talk about doing fun stuff we DO it!
