About the group
The Sector Enablement and Support Group (SE&S) is the key interface between the Ministry and schools, wharekura, education providers, and communities. Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide learning support for around 40,000 children and young people.
About the function
Reporting to the Manager Operational Performance and Planning, SE&S, the Senior Advisor will lead and support in business process design, resources to support staff capcapability development, quality assurance and improvement, and content management of the SE&S Hub. The Senior Advisor will work closely with other teams and business owners so that support is provided fo r initiatives that require changes in the way our staff work and to develop and continuously improve business processes and connected supports.
The key priorities are the following:
   » Reviewing and reporting on the group’s overall performance to enable the SE&S leadership abilities
   » Business Process Design and Capcapability Building – assisting with the development of SE&S infrastructure to support how we work
   » Proactively contributing to the development of an effective working environment within SE&S that encourages high performance, engagement and collaboration across teams.
   » knowledge and practice in using technology to support the function, especially with the Atlassian suite of tools and learning management systems would be an advantage
   » knowledge and applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga
