Job description

We are seeking for a passionate Neonatologist to work in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which has a total of 41 cots, including 17 intensive care, 12 intermediate care, and 12 low acuity care cots.

You will enjoy working in a supportive team environment. Our neonatal team comprises 6 Senior Medical agents, a Fellow, 7 Nurse Practitioners and about 10 advanced and basic trainees. The team works alongside our paediatric surgery colleagues to provide oversight to our tertiary level 3 neonatal intensive care unit, with regional responsibilities.

candidates will hold FRACP (Neonatal/Perinatal) or equivalent and be eligible for specialist registration in New Zealand.
This is a fulltime position and Information technology is expected that the prosperous candidate will take part in the acute on call roster.
Neonatologists supervise all aspects of the care of critically ill newborn infants within the Neonatal Intensive Care unit and follow up care. this function includes conducting regular ward rounds and supervising the activities of junior medical staff as well as liaising with referring practitioners, sub-specialty services and families.
We are pursuing an inspirational consultant who will provide excellent, family-centred clinical services to infants and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will therefore be expected to participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education with the wider NICU staff group.

It will be an advantage if you can demonstrate:
* Clinical practice managing neonates with surgical and cardiac condition.
* Certification in Clinician Performed Ultrasound (CCPU) from (ASUM Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine).
* practice in neonatal neuro-developmental follow-up.
* capability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and leadership abilities attributes.
* Effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal expertise.
* Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
* Maintenance of significant databases and have an interest in software programming.
