   » Full time position available for a Registered Health Professional (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse)
   » Working Monday- Friday, located in Hamilton.
   » Support taiohi (young people) to foster positive relationships, and build their own future.

Summary
The Whetu Marewa (Rising Star) services aims to build the confidence, resilience & wellbeing of taiohi (young people) with mental health and addiction related issues by enabling access to a range of supported interventions. Whetu Marewa provides mobile support in a community out-reach approach by offering a Registered Health Professional-led school and community-located clinics.
Your function will involve supporting taiohi (12-24 years) with mild and moderate mental health and addiction concerns and social stressors. You will be:
   » Working with schools and other community agencies to identify vulnerable taiohi
   » Providing assessment and support to identified taiohi using a range of evidence located interventions
   » Building consciousness and education of mental health and addiction concerns in the community setting
   » Providing education and information on mental health and wellbeing for taiohi and their whanau, both on a 1:1 and group setting
   » Working directly with taiohi, their whanau and their peers, to build resilience and increase their sense of wellbeing
You will be working 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 8.30am- 5.00pm in Hamilton
Support to taiohi will include:
   » Astute assessment expertise with an knowledge of assessment and screening tools
   » A commitment to a trauma informed care and recovery located approach
   » knowledge and practice with developing and facilitating group work
   » Therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness expertise, Solution Focused Therapy
   » Youth coaching and mentoring utilising a Te Whare Tapa Wha model
   » Kaupapa M?ori cultural interventions including a focus on positive cultural identity, whakapapa and wh?nauora, kapa haka, and waiata
   » A range of recreational and cultural activities as a way of engaging taiohi as well as helping them to build expertise and confidence, community connections and healthy, wellbeing focused lifestyle choices
The Team
We have an existing, friendly, and highly motivated team already located in Hamilton. Support for our taiohi is delivered from the office, with outreach work in neighbouring towns. With this function there will be a focus on developing support in schools and therefore the capability to develop relationships in these settings will be essential.
You
We would expect the prosperous applicant to have advanced expertise in working collaboratively with other providers to address complex needs. We need someone who has the capability to support and inspire a team- someone who can work alongside and provide mentoring and information to others.
