Our group has a strong policy culture and works on issues affecting a huge system that directly impacts the lives of all New Zealanders. We have a challenging and engaging work programme that includes strategic and legislative work and contributes to the Government’s priorities for education. We have one fixed-term vacancy (three months or more) and one permanent vacancy for adjunct Policy Analysts to join our Regulatory Stewardship Programme (fixed-term) and our Quality Teaching and Learning (QTL) team (permanent). These are entry-level positions that would suit recent graduates. The QTL team develops policy to improve teaching and learning for all school-aged children and young people in Aotearoa New Zealand. Quality teaching is the most significant in-school influence on educational results, so the prosperous candidates will have opportunities to contribute to improving results across the system. The Regulatory Stewardship programme works to lift the Ministry’s capcapability as a regulator and assess the performance and risk of our regulatory systems. Regulatory stewardship is about ensuring our approach to managing the regulations we are responsible for is as effective, efficient, fair and accountable as possible.
