Massey University is seeking to employ a dynamic and team orientated Student Wellbeing Advisor, M?ori as part of a university-wide Student Wellbeing team to assist in building the capacity of other staff to support those students experiencing emotional distress, mental health issues or concerning behaviour. In addition, the function collaborates broadly to promote and develop the wellbeing and resilience of the student body, specifically Tauira M?ori.
A post-graduate qualification and registration in mental health is preferred but your high-level practice in a significant function including concerning behaviour work is critical.

The function understands student wellbeing within a shared university-wide framework. Information technology assists in the provision of a responsive and effective pastoral care service that improves student success, retention and practice for students across the three campuses, distance students and those studying offshore.
There is a particular emphasis on working collaboratively across Te Kunenga ki P?rehuroa with other M?ori support staff and with wh?nau, hapu, iwi and members of the community.
Central to this function is the capability to work in a way that embraces and enhances Mana M?ori and acexpertises the importance of the values of whanaungatanga and manaakitanga in advancing M?ori student success.
