The Puna K?rero Matua sits within the Te Tirat? team of advisors and analysts who work collaboratively within Operations and Service Delivery (OSD) to provide specialist advice by applying proven methodology and implementing business improvements that enhance efficient and effective customer-centric services across the M?ori Land Court. You will quickly design and deliver robust analysis and advice. As a confident communicator you will work with senior decision makers at the M?ori Land Court. The operational support provided by the team includes the reporting and business planning initiatives; support for frontline employees; responsibility for coordinating the preparation of briefings and official correspondence. The Puna K?rero Matua supports a culture that focuses on the customer, continuous improvement and standardisation, accountcapability and employee engagement. A key focus of the function is to lead the implementation of small and quick fix business and service improvement initiatives, including knowledge base updates, and establishing and maintaining appropriate and effective internal and external relationships. He p?kenga tou – expertise and practice To be prosperous in the function you will have the following: » A good general knowledge of, and respect for, tikanga M?ori and competence in, or a availability to become competent in, Te Reo M?ori » An knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi » Tertiary qualification in appropriate discipline (desirable but not essential) » capability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical and business information » Well-developed verbal and written communication expertise » Flexibility, adaptcapability and pragmatism » A strong customer focus » practice providing advice in a complex customer-centred organisation » practice providing written reports and presentations to a high standard » practice working with senior managers » knowledge of public sector systems and processes, including the use of performance information to inform decision-making » practice working in a high-paced environment where you are required to influence and respond to changing needs and priorities Te ?huatunga a Te Kooti Whenua M?ori – About the M?ori Land Court We are a court of record. Te Ture Whenua M?ori Act 1993 (our Act) recognises the significance of M?ori land as a taonga tuku iho of special significance to the M?ori people. Our function is to provide a court service for owners of M?ori land, their wh?nau and their hap? which promotes the retention and use of M?ori land; and facilitates the occupation, development and use of that land. The record held by Te Kooti Whenua M?ori is taonga tuku iho and the Court is the guardian of the whakapapa of the land, which is the people.
