POSITION PURPOSE
The Technical and Facilities Manager is the facilitator, educator, and caretaker of the theatre and the people who use it. They are responsible for managing, maintaining and superviseing BATS' technical and production facilities, maintaining the premises, and being a direct point of contact and information for each co-operative's technical crew.

The function has an oversight for everything going on in the venue from a technical and facilities perspective - including the bar, box office, private functions, room hire (including rehearsal room hire) and ensures everyone using the building has everything they need to make Information technology work, that it's safe, and the audience are looked after. The theatres and studios are the Technical and Facilities Manager's domain, keeping them running smoothly, looking after co-ops in the lead up to the season and while they are packing in.

POSITION DIMENSIONS
This is a 30 hour per week position where flexibility is essential. The Technical and Facilities Manager works late nights superviseing pack outs, early mornings superviseing pack ins and anytime in between. The Technical & Facilities Manager is expected to be engaged with the BATS community during and outside of normal working hours.

Contributing to the BATS vision and the capability to make Information technology happen;

An exceptional capability to deal with diverse groups of people;

Thorough working and practical expertise of theatre production and process;
   »
Theatre production expertise - specifically lighting, sound, stage management and the capability to advise aspects of theatre design;
   »
A responsible and self-motivated work ethic;
   »
Coordination and time management expertise;
   »
capability to work as part of, and manage, a small team;
   »
Basic computer expertise (Word, Excel etc);
   »
Current First Aid training;
   »
expertise of current health and safety legislation and application of requirements within BATS Theatre.
