You'll report directly to the Deputy Director Defence Shared Services Group and will be responsible for coordinating workflow and resource availcapability. You'll work to provide training, coaching and mentoring of your team to ensure the provision of a high-quality service in the administration of NPF resources to support the welfare and wellbeing of both current and former members of the Armed Forces and their families. This is a key function where you will ensure that high quality, trusted and comprehensive financial advice and support is provided to the committees and the leaders of the NZDF, as well as ensuring all the NPFs are compliant with all of their legislative obligations and internal NZDF policies. You will work closely with the single Service Team Leaders and Non Public Fund Committees to ensure the integrity of actuals, budgets and forecast information of a high standard, and timely, accurate and integrated financial information and advice is provided. What we need An practiced and trusted people leader, with a refined accounting and finance background and significant qualifications. You'll bring: » Sound financial analysis skills; » practice with finance systems; » Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, incorporating problem solving; and » Excellent communication skills with the capability to communicate technical financial information effectively to non-financial audiences, verbally and in writing. Ideally you'll hold a membership with CAANZ (CA), and/or Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), as well as consciousness of the NZDF as an organisation, including its business, functions, structures and command chains, as well as the political, social, cultural and economic environment Information technology operates in, including the inter-relationship with NPFs, although this is not necessary.
