Wilderness Lodge Lake Moeraki is seeking a Head Chef to join us for the 2021-22 season. This family-run nature lodge offers stylish accommodation, fine dining and guided activities. The lodge is a great place to live and work if you love nature and wish to save money in a spectacular remote location. About the function(s) » This is an excellent opportunity for a Chef that loves the outdoors, is happy to work in a small team, live remotely and enjoys preparing gourmet meals for our discerning visitors. » this function could suit a couple as a Lodge adjunct position is also available. The Lodge adjunct function would include more general tasks including housekeeping and restaurant work. » The Head Chef would be responsible for running the Wilderness Lodge kitchen operations covering cooking breakfasts, limited lunches and a 4 course table D'hote evening meal. » practice in managing a kitchen and ordering is essential as is the capability to ensure a positive, safe and healthy workplace. » Guest bookings have been substantially down since Covid because of closed NZ borders. We envisage guests numbers will be still limited for the 21/22 tourism as borders may still be closed to our mainly European and USA visitors. We anticipate guest numbers will range from 4-25 per night.
