The Northland Region currently has a client base of 21,827 New Zealanders in receipt of a main benefit of which 13,218 are M?ori, 3,296 are rangatahi and 11,799 are women.
As a Regional Commissioner you will:
• Lead one of central governments largest service delivery organisation, and be the key spokesperson
• Partner with iwi to support their aspirations
• Work with partners to identify priorities, challenges and opportunities and enable solutions to improve the lives of the wh?nau we serve
• Understand and address fundamental barriers to long term social and economic wellbeing
• Put our knowledge to work - contribute to a whole of government solution to uncover future realities and opportunities for our people by sharing our knowledge
• Identify and respond to changes and trends in regional employment and economic results in order to future proof our workforce and support industry led solutions to current and future labour demands
• Provide leadership abilities of your people to support New Zealanders with employment, housing and earnings support.
Requirements:
Proven capability to use information and data to support you to develop and implement strategy, influence change, and maintain a high-performance culture. You will have, or can build, credibility within Iwi, Hap?, Community and Industry, enabling effective partnerships and engagement. You will have an knowledge of a Te Ao M?ori world view and be comfortable in that cultural construct. You will have proven skills in creating an environment that fosters growth and development. This is a busy and challenging leadership abilities function and includes participation in a collegial leadership abilities team committed to supporting people to deliver quality services. this function requires exceptional relationship management skills to work with a wide variety of stakeholders.
