The person in this function may be required to work in any part of the Health of the Older Persons Service which has SMO functions in all three of our community bases as a community geriatrician, as well as in the acute setting in the Wellington Regional Hospital, as well as Kenepuru Community Hospital. The current vacancy is a function in the Wellington Community, working alongside Health of the Older Persons Nurse Practioners in the community, and the function is embedded within a multidisciplinary team. this function has close working relationship with primary care and supports the management of older adults to remain well in our community. As a senior medical agent, you will provide specialist clinical services and also training and mentoring for junior medical staff attached to the Older Persons Services. The on call requirement is 1:7-8 on-call. tasks Care of Health of Older Persons inpatients Oversight of Registrar and House Surgeon within team Participation in On call roster covering Inpatient wards at Kenepuru Oversight and mentoring of Health of the Older Person Nurse Practioners/candidates expertise & practice FRACP and vocationally registered in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) Excellent interpersonal expertise and work well in a team environment significant training and practice About our organisation Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region.
