Talk about a rare but financially compensateing opportunity! Come practice tea picking in New Zealand's one and only commercial Tea Estate! Zealong grows the world's best certified organic tea, and tea pickers play a very important function in ensuring that only the best young leaves are picked! We are seeking for tea pickers, preferably with practice to help us pick tea leaves during a 15 to 24 day window in November. Job description Harvesting the top few centimeters of tea shoots, located on correct shoot thickness and length, appearance and the “feel” of the shoot (two leaves and a bud) All appropriate shoots on each bush must be harvested at each harvest pass. Harvest is done with finger mounted cutter blades on both the left and right hands. Usual work hours are between 7.30am to 3.30pm Requirements: - Physically fit, to be able to carry picking baskets up to 8kg when full. - Comfortable working outdoors. - Have dexterity in finger movements and be able to use both hands at the same time. - Note however that the function does not suit tall persons (i.e who are 1.8m or more in height). - Must have the legal right to work ion New Zealand.
