With two areas of responsibility you would be dealing with clients and working on our digital presence/e-commerce. Approximately 40% your time would be spent dealing with clients in person, by email and over the phone. For clients and visitors, our function is to facilitate a connection with our reliable of artists and the gallery, the capability and desire to listen and communicate is vital. Your focus will be on working with clients interested in artworks that can be purchased online (ie our limited edition prints and small sculpture). For this function, a strong interest in art/interior design is essential and while a formal arts education is not required Information technology would be a bonus. Roughly 60% of your time would be spent focussing on our online presence. E-commerce is a relatively new space for Parnell Gallery, with online purchasing capabilities integrated into our website in 2020. We are seeking for a self-motivated person who can help us take our online presence to the next level. What you bring to the function, whether a basic or advanced appreciation for contemporary art and/or e-commerce practice, will determine whether this is a junior or senior position. You would be working alongside our Senior Art Consultant who will provide training and support to expand your expertise around our artists. For the e-commerce aspect of the function you would be working closely with the Director and Marketing Manager. You would be involved in all aspects of our digital operations from working on strategic planning with the Director and Marketing Manager through to implementation. This is a new function so there is plenty of scope to make Information technology your own. ABOUT US Parnell Gallery is one of Auckland's longest standing dealer galleries. We are a small team of six, including the two directors, each playing an important function in therunning and growth of the gallery. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (DIGITAL): » Management of all online store activities » Executing client order fulfillment » Creation of monthly client emails in Mailchimp (in keeping with our professionallydesigned templates, graphic design practice is not required) » Monitoring website analytics » Working with the Director to improve client practice on our website CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (GALLERY ASSOCIATE): » Working with clients on a day to day basis; in person, over email, and by phone. » Coordinating packaging, delivery & freight of artworks (both domestic and international) » Some handling of artworks (packaging & hanging) » Jointly hosting exhibition openings with the team FOLLOWING THE PATH OF YOUR INTERESTS » In addition to the core responsibilities, if you have a specific desire to work in any of the following areas they can be built into your function - » Photography and image editing » PR & developing relationships with interior designers » Copywriting » Exhibition coordination expertise AND practice We are seeking for the right person to join our team rather than wanting to tick all of the boxes in terms of practice. A friendly nature, excellent communication expertise and a desire to lgain are a must. We can internally provide training to expand expertise around art and our artists and provide external upskilling training courses for the digital aspect of the function. Contract Type: This is a full time position working from Sunday - Thursday. Sunday hours are 11am - 4.30pm and from February 2023 would be alternate Sunday'swhen a key team member returns from maternity leave.
