About our group and team The Information Technology group provides the information, infrastructure and support to the Ministry to get the job done. The ICT Project Services Team of Project Managers and Coordinators, supported by the Project Office, takes pride in its strong delivery commitment and the high standard of work Information technology achieves. As a result of a valued team member deciding that Information technology is time to leave and look for new opportunities, we are currently looking for another Senior Project Manager to join us. We have a great programme of projects for the next few years and there will be lots of opportunities to work with a variety of project teams that will deliver some real change and innovation for both the Ministry and the Education Sector. About this function The Senior Project Manager will be assigned to provide support to business owners in the delivery of specified projects. You will plan and lead complex multiple projects to prosperously deliver and integrate defined outputs within scope, budget and timeframes, to customer and stakeholder satisfaction, set out in the Ministry’s Change Delivery Framework. About you To be prosperous in this function you will have the following: » Professional Project Management qualification » Demonstrated practice in delivering large scale and diverse projects with multiple stakeholders to time and budget » Communication, business change management and information management » MS Project expertise and practice in using Information technology to manage projects; and You will also offer: » Knowledge and practice of the machinery of Government and the public sector » capability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of contacts » capability to hold a tight line in order to prevent scope creep, and to deliver to deadlines » Good financial management expertise » Proven effective written and verbal communication expertise » practice leading a team or project » Good knowledge of governance of project management If you’d like to bring your expertise to a compensateing function within an organisation that’s continuously reaching goals and striving for a better future for New Zealand, we’d love to hear from you.
