Together we are currently seeking an practiced candidate for the function of Marketing and Relationships Manager. This is an opportunity for the right person to make an impactful contribution to the live performance scene, and to artist and audience development here in T?maki Makaurau.The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and motivated individual with strong arts marketing practice, knowledge of the arts landscape in T?maki Makaurau, empathetic leadership abilities expertise, a capacity for artist mentoring, an interest in audience accessibility and development, and dynamic creative-thinking abilities. They will also see themselves as a sector provocateur and change-maker, and will of course have a genuine passion for live performance. They will enjoy working collaboratively in an intimate small team setting, and will understand the importance of centering and nurturing relationships in a mana-enhancing workplace. It is also very important to us that the candidate comes with a strong knowledge of what cultural safety means and looks like in today's setting and within the wider arts sector. They will align with our organisation's desire to activate cultural intersectionality, and will hold equity as a core driver in their work. They will contribute significantly to our organisation's developing practice in Te Tiriti partnership, will understand the importance of being in relationship with mana whenua, and will have a genuine desire to whakamana customs pertaining to the tikanga and kawa of Ng?ti Wh?tua ki Or?kei. The key areas that fold into this function include: » Carrying out marketing, publicity and communications for our seasonal programmes » Providing marketing support and guidance to artists in our programme » Providing key insight and data to inform programming decisions » Managing a yearly marketing and fundraising budget » Managing Basement's e-news and social media platforms » Designing and implementing accessibility policies and action plans » Carrying out and maintaining Basement's Artist & Audience Relationship Strategy alongside the organisation's overall strategy » Driving the Basement brand » Looking after and acquiring sponsor, member and patron relationships » Administering fundraising and donation campaigns » superviseing website development and operations » Leading on special projects such as Basement's annual Christmas Show and Disruptors podcast » Managing Basement's Ticketing Manager & Marketing adjunct, Co-Pro Producers and Producer Pals » Other secondary expertise that would compliment this function but are not imperative include basic Photoshop/InDesign expertise, and video/audio editing. this function is an integral part of the senior leadership abilities team, reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Programme Manager, Operations Manager, Technical & Facilities Manager, and Bar & FOH Manager. They will also work closely with our part-time Ticketing Manager & Marketing adjunct, who reports directly to them. Information technology is a full-time, permanent position, ideally commencing on Monday 27th September. Basement Theatre is a live performance venue in the central business district of T?maki Makaurau, established in 2008. We occupy the artistic underground and value the idea of pushing culture forward through brave, urgent and adventurous artistry. We are known for our commitment to platforming, developing and supporting emerging artists, and are a cornerstone organisation within the sector. We are a not-for-profit organisation, an investment client of Creative New Zealand, and are also currently funded by Foundation North and Auckland Council. At the core of our strategy for the next 10 years is a response to the sector-wide urgency for artists to achieve equity and sustaincapability in their practice. Utilising the concept of sustenance as a way into our work, we look to investigate how our artists can leave our spaces with their creativity enhanced, their well-being nurtured, their financial means improved, and their kete full of new and unexpected resources. We seek ways to keep our staff safe and well, and commit to the tending of our organisational life-force. And in an age of social distancing, we emphasise the necessity for our communities to connect, wildly being together, in dynamic social exchange.
