Offer: Visiting Artist- Writer:Job description:Job detailsOrganisation Massey University Closes 21 Nov 2021 Posted on 12 Oct 2021 Region Manawatu / Wanganui Work type Contract Work classification Education & Development, Literature & Publishing SharePoetry, Fiction or Creative Non-FictionPalmerston North Massey University, in conjunction with Palmerston North City Council and Square Edge Community Arts (Palmerston North), invites applications to join the School of Humanities, Media, and Creative Communication as Visiting Writer for a seven-week period from late March 2022. This year we're only considering people currently residing in New Zealand due to restrictions caused by the pandemic. candidates are assessed on the community project they have in mind for their residency, the strength of their writing sample, and their reputation and reach within Aotearoa New Zealand's writing community. While the residency will enable the prosperous candidate to set aside much of the time to develop their own work, the Visiting Artist will be required to work with both Massey University students and the community at large. The Visiting Artist will be expected to do the following: » Have sufficient time to develop their own work » Offer one public reading in our 'Off the Page' series » Facilitate a community located continuing project in conjunction with Square Edge Community Arts » Deliver one to two lectures/workshops and work with creative writing students at Massey University as negotiated Accommodation and a $6,000 stipend will be provided. The residency also includes an office on Massey's Palmerston North campus, free access to the Massey library, and community-oriented support from Square Edge Community Arts including a community workshop/meeting venue.
