This new destination will be a playful and accessible platform for exhibition and practices that bring science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) to life, alongside heritage collections and innovations from New Zealand's current leaders in these fields.About the function The Visitor practice Developer - M?tauranga M?ori will take the lead on the development and delivery of content and interpretation from an Ao M?ori perspective. With a natural capability to walk in two worlds, you will be someone who thrives in an environment where our visitors are at the forefront of what we do, and where we aim to attract a diverse audience through the prosperous delivery of our vibrant and interactive exhibitions programme. Primarily this function will focus on the development and delivery for MOTAT's new centre for science, technology, and innovation (?SciTech Centre') but will also be involved in other Exhibitions projects, including MOTAT's Pumphouse project and Te Wai ?rea narrative. This is a 2-year fixed term 40 hour per week position, with the added benefit of flexible working hours and the capability to work a portion of hours in the house each week. About you To be prosperous in this function you will have at least five years of practice delivering creative, audience-focused practices in an area related to science communication, education, or exhibition development from a M?ori worldview. You will have a solid knowledge of M?tauranga M?ori and Tikanga M?ori coupled with the capability to take an inclusive and collaborative approach to your work, excellent relationship building expertise and the capability to foster good relationships with M?ori organisations, cultural advisors, and community groups. You will have the capability to identify, understand and respond to target audiences, as well as a working knowledge of the considerations and processes required to work with museum collections.
