Nurse Specialist (cancer support)Job location:Auckland All Auckland Work Type: Permanent » » » »Busy function- centrally located in Grafton »Permanent- 28 hours per week (4 x 7-hour days, 1 hour lunch, Monday to Thursday) »Professional development opportunities function: Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment that is made up of nurses, psychologists, driving service coordinators, social workers and trained support volunteers. The function is to support clients and whanau and to provide remote support for clients living in the Hauraki Gulf. The position has an integral function in supporting those coming to Auckland for treatment. This position will be part of the central community nursing team. Responsibility: » Supporting clients and their whanau. » Providing practical information on cancer and its treatment (including those affected by cancer who may walk-in to the Society). » Supporting clients to manage cancer symptoms and treatment side effects. » Managing your own caseload and demonstrating excellent time management expertise. » Having good communication expertise and high standards of documentation. » Assisting with Triage for the volunteer driving service and the team. » Working autonomously, knowledge that this comes with a high level of trust. » Being a supportive team member. » Actively participating in the organisations Equity strategy. » Working collaboratively with other health professionals as required.
