Purpose of the function
This position is a management function, providing strong clinical and staffing leadership abilities across the facility. The Clinical Service Manager provides high level clinical leadership abilities and support to clinical and care staff at the facility, including:
   » Providing leadership abilities, supervision and direction to clinical and care staff.
   » Assisting the Facility Manager and senior management team in the effective management of the facility (including providing cover for the Facility Manager);
   » Actively participating in the facility Quality and Risk Management and facility education programmes;
   » Monitoring the provision of care to residents to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained.
   » Providing oversight of resident clinical records and recordings to ensure they meet organisational and legislative requirements.
   » Managing oversight of the clinical budget and rostering of clinical staff and care staff to ensure safe staffing guidelines are met.
You
   » Current NZ Annual Practising Certificate with NZ Nursing Council
   » Has a qualification related to healthcare or management or significant practice
   » Broad knowledge of the age care environment
   » knowledge of the Employment Relations Act 2000, Holidays Act 2003, Health & Safety legislation and the Health and Discapability Sector Standards
   » knowledge the Aged Residential Care Contractual Obligations
   » Good leadership abilities expertise with the capability to motivate staff
   » Substantial practice in delivery of care services
   » Knowledge of the Health and Discapability Sector Standards with the capability to manage a robust quality system
   » capability to implement budgetary control and work within a commercial environment
   » Good practice with Microsoft Office Suite
   » Excellent verbal and written communication expertise
   » Strong prioritisation and organisational expertise
   » Rated as competent in the use of InterRai
