About our team The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group (ELSA) The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group sets the system-level learning for every child and student. Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce results we seek for New Zealand. About Pathways and Progress The Pathways and Progress group has a significant programme of work to refresh The New Zealand Curriculum and transform curriculum supports, resources and services over the next five years. We want Information technology to be easier for schools and communities to design and deliver rich learning opportunities that support the progress and success of all young people. The group works collaboratively with a range of partners to use evidence, educational trends and diverse perspectives to design and implement curriculum frameworks, resources, tools and services that are powerful in the hands of schools and communi ties as they work together to support the learning of all their young people. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who will enrich our focus on learners and the education workforce. About the function The Senior Adviser will provide secretariat support and input into all reporting requirements for the team. They will help develop high quality curriculum services and advice for Ministers in conjunction with other curriculum staff and managers. This will involve contributing to specific initiatives that help schools provide rich learning opportunities for all students. About you Your personal qualities will include taking pride in producing written work and other forms of communication of the highest quality every time and having a proven capability to get the job done. You will be able to work at pace and manage set tasks and projects, but you also will notice pressure points, take the initiative, and act. In this function you will be expected to have the kind of interpersonal savviness that means you relate well with all kinds of people.
