income: $75,044 – $101,531
The Translation Service is a busy office within the Department of Internal Affairs that collaborates across government to develop multilingual communications and materials for New Zealand's Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities.
We are seeking for oneenergetic and practiced people leaderwith backgrounds in translation and interpreting, languages or multilingual cross-cultural communication. You will be leading one of two newly formed teams, one of administrators and translators and the other of translation project managers.
This is a senior position and your practice in working with languages, delivering excellent service and building strong working relationships with clients, providers and government stakeholders will be essential. These positions require effective people leaders who can build and support a strong team working in a busy and demanding field.
To be prosperous in this function, you will be an effective people leader and have practice working in the language industry, or will have worked in an organisation where multilingualism was the norm. You will have excellent communication expertise, a proven track record for problem solving and providing excellent service to customers. You will improve operational processes and systems as well as explore new tools and develop new services as the available translation technologies improve and client requirements evolve. You will have an knowledge of cross-cultural and linguistic issues and an capability to engage with stakeholders as an expert in the field.
practice that will give you a considerable advantage, includes an in-depth knowledge of core issues for M?ori and Pasifika, in particular around te reo M?ori and Pacific languages, or an in-depth knowledge of the concerns and challenges facing our culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
