Great South is a Council Controlled Organisation with an independent board.We are focused on creating ?even better lives for all Southlanders? through sustainable development.We are on the lookout for an outstanding Director to join our events team, to drive and deliver the ILT Kidzone Festival occurring 14 - 19 July 2021. The event will this year celebrate it's 16th year. This position would be best suited to an practiced event organiser with the position having the option of being contracted or via fixed term employment. Key responsibilities are: » Manage end-to-end delivery of the Festival, which includes event logistics, supplier management, contract management, procurement, budget monitoring, ticket sales, marketing and communication, relationship management, sponsorship and funding. » Lead the project planning process and milestone tracking. » Engage volunteers and staff to support event operations. » Establish a site layout design, health and safety requirements, permits and consents. » Undertake post-activity reporting and analysis to ensure key learnings are applied for the improvement of activities. Our ideal applicant will: » Have 2-3 years event management practice, or similar. » Have exceptional communication and relationship management expertise. » Be an expert planner, highly organised with strong attention to detail. » Be unflappable; you'll be calm, able to cope with competing demands and deliver to a high standard even when under pressure. » Be a great ambassador for Southland. Generally, this position is Monday to Friday, but some flexibility is required due the nature of the work.
