Te Papa Atawhai | Department of Conservation is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, creative and organised Kaitohutohu Whakap? | Media and Communications Advisor located in either Christchurch or Wellington.

Reporting to the Team Lead Communications National, you will lead and deliver media and communications for new national strategic projects work programmes.
A number of significant and new projects require media and communications support and advice. roject teams have been established to work with internal and external stakeholders and this function will work with the project teams to deliver new programmes of work.
As the Media and Communications Advisor, you will contact with the project team to deliver communications planning, coordination, collaboration and the writing and dissemination of collateral to promote and support the success of the projects.
This a full time (40 hours), two-year fixed term opportunity.This position can be located in Christrhuch or Wellington.

We are seeking for a flexible self-starter and capable multi-tasker who has strong communication planning and writing skills. You will have a natural capability to tell stories using multiple channels, as well as the capcapability to identify and act on opportunities to engage different audiences and proactive seek opportunities.
To be prosperous in this function you will have:
   » practice leading communicationsand media relations for a large programme at a strategic level
   » A tertiary qualification in communications, edia, public relations or marketin
   » Creative practice telling stories using a range of internal and external communications channels, as well as meet the challenge of communicating across a diverse and distributed organisation
   » practice in developing and implementing effective systems to manage critical communications issues and risks
   » Able to quickly understandmultiple issues, manage conflicting priorities and operate to a high standard
   » Excellent communicator and collaborator with both internal and external stakeholders
   » practice partnering and engaging with iwi and tangata whenua as well as an knowledge of the implications of the Treaty of Waitangi is highly esirable
