The K?inga Ora Our Graduate Development Programme Are you a recent graduate or completing your degree in property, construction, building science, engineering or architecture? Our 18-month graduate development programme is designed to help you lgain the ropes in Construction and Innovation (C&I), Urban Planning and Design (UPD) and Technology. The programme offers a hands-on learning environment that gives you real life practice in worthwhile projects that impact better results for New Zealanders and will provide a solid foundation for a prosperous career with K?inga Ora and beyond. Ng? mahi – What you’ll do Our Graduate Development Programme is designed to set you up for a prosperous career in the housing sector. You will lgain about K?inga Ora objectives of delivering welcoming homes and thriving communities. During the 18-month programme you will complete three six-month rotations within either the Construction and Innovation, Urban Planning Design or Technology business units. Each rotation is supported by a development and capcapability plan which will assist you as you transition from academic study to excelling in the world of work. From day one you will get involved in real mahi with significant deliverables and responsibilities. You’ll work alongside industry leaders on iconic projects that help create a better Aotearoa. Ng? haepapa – What you’ll be responsible for During the Graduate Programme you will complete rotations in Construction and Innovation, Urban Planning and Design and Technology. You may find yourself supporting the below mahi. Construction and Innovation (C&I) aims to grow its public and supported housing portfolio through smart design and development of quality homes that meet the needs of the community now and in the future. This means driving innovation across the construction sector. The Construction and Innovation Group advises on standards for quality homes, provides planning and logistical support in the rehoming tenants affected by construction, while providing construction pipeline scheduling and reports. Carbon Neutral Housing Team (within Construction and Innovation) is implementing a Lifecycle Carbon Assessment (LCA) tool for the calculation and reporting of the carbon emissions of construction for K?inga Ora delivered redevelopment projects. This will be a New Zealand first, and positions K?inga Ora on par with world leading countries and organisations in this field. Technology looks after all enquiries and requests, supply and support of devices, security and infrastructure, communications and applications that are used on a day-to-day basis. We enable our business through executing our digital strategy to shape the housing and urban development ecosystem. Digital is about new ways of working and choices, enabled through a range of modern technologies (such as Azure, Microsoft, ServiceNow, SalesForce). We are using both existing (such as Oracle and cloud located products) and new digital capabilities to redefine our work practices and business services in an environment that is responsive and agile. Urban Planning and Design (UPD) – The Urban Planning and Design group provide skills in the urban design and planning space. Leading the management of K?inga Ora large scale strategic partnerships, working closely with place-located groups, iwi, local and central government agencies and the private sector to facilitate urban development projects. Ng? p?manawatanga ?u – What you will bring: » You must be a NZ Citizen, an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident » Tertiary qualification in significant degree (candidates should have graduated no less than 12 months before the start of the programme which is February 2024) » Be willing and able to base yourself in Auckland for the 18-month programme from February 2024 to August 2025 » NZ driver’s licence (beneficial) » Tenacious, goal oriented and drive to grow, in self and work » Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills and able to convey information and ideas clearly and concisely » Effective planning and organising skills, including time management and capability to prioritise competing demands » Passionate about our customers and supporting the delivery of homes to improve results for all New Zealanders Our Graduate assessment centre day will be held in Auckland on 20th or 21st September 2023 so please keep this date in mind as candidates who are prosperous in our recruitment process will need to attend.
