Position purpose
The Development Coordinator - Education Programme (DC-EP) is responsible for providing support for all Touch Compass education programmes and arts-engagement activities.
   » They will play a function in a 3-year incremental growth education strategy and work closely with Touch Compass Management to develop and supervise the execution and operation of a programme of discapability-led arts and education practice.
   » They will be supporting a goal of not only enhancing but expanding our collaborative efforts with education providers, businesses and community organisations.
   » An additional focus will be placed on supporting the growth and development of opportunities for M?ori and Pasifika tangata mana whaikaha to express themselves through art-making and creative expression.
   » Infusing a discapability-led ethos into our artistic education development and wider training initiatives.

Essential functions of the function
   » Develop and supervise the Touch Compass education programme including regular community classes, school programme workshops, education and outreach-related events, organisation workshops, and the engagement with facilities and service providers to support this.
   » Coordinate our education programme within the framework of an established budget and support Management and our tutors to deliver high quality activities.
   » Scheduling and coordination of arts-related and discapability conscious education workshops, training, events & activities. This includes coordinating the programme calendar, working closely with TC's Marketing lead to promote and advertise, assisting in all venues, facility hire and rental arrangements, and ensuring we consistently exceed the expectations of all participants and parties involved.
   » Nurture relationships with Auckland and progressively wider regional businesses & business groups, community groups, government agencies, universities, the community, schools, arts organisations for collaboration and provision opportunities.
   » Support & provide outreach to schools, outside arts and culture organisations as needed.
   » Attend all education related activities and events to coordinate and ensure accessibility, safety and enjoyment within the practice for participants, staff, audiences, and performing artists.
   » Assist in the management of arts-education related budgets & provide analysis through quarterly reports.
   » Work closely with Management, Marketing to develop innovative and effective communication and promotion strategies.
   » Collaborate with Management to implement a reporting and monitoring structure that can be used to monitor and evaluate education and arts-related initiatives & strategies. Prepare and communicate reports as needed or requested.
   » Participate in arts-related professional development activities as needed.
Skill specification and qualifications
   » Bachelor's Degree in an arts-related, dance, performance or education field
   » Demonstrated practice in education, ideally 7-10 years cumulative practice, your practice should include programme planning and design, participant and personnel coordination
   » practice working with discapability consciousness, lived practice preferred but a commitment to deeper learning and knowledge will be recognised.
   » practice coordinating resources for education and information practice - print, online, and social media content especially accessibility formats
   » Current in the use of emerging arts-related and education platform technologies
   » Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication expertise
   » practiced with delivering education in art-making, dance, theatre, performance, multi-disciplinary creativity would be advantageous
   » Proficient with common workplace computing applications, especially Google collaboration tools
   » capability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate events and activities is expected. Occasional evening and weekend availcapability is required
Position Information for candidates
   » This is intended as a 3-year fixed-term full-time 32 hour per week function
   » Consideration will be given to a job-share approach
