Gifting books and promoting a love of reading to over 100,000 children nationwide reinforces our vision to inspire a love of books. A nation that reads are communities that succeed!
Around 40%of New Zealanders lack the functional literacy expertise to enable them to fully participate in our society and economy. All New Zealanders should be part of our nation's prosperity and participate fully in society.
Duffy Books in Homes was launched in 1994 to bring the joy of reading and ownership of brand new books to tamariki and whanau in schools that need Information technology the most. For almost 30 years we have delivered over 14 million books into the hands of our tamariki from 0-13 years of age.
Our core business delivering books into schools celebrates book choice and ownership for each child during Duffy school function model assemblies. This involves the placement of NZ personalities/function models in more than 500 schools across the motu to share diverse, colourful inspirational stories, and how the impact of reading plays an important function in each of their prosperous journeys.
Our fabulous New Zealand function models appear in school assemblies twice a year. This year's function models will share their stories and help present books to tamariki in over 520 schools.
