Could this be you? My client is one of the biggest in New Zealand - stockist of the largest range and depth of stainless steel fasteners and hardware. They also offer an extensive range of BSP fittings, Sanitary fittings, Marine Hardware and Building Hardware. The role itself involves networking (building strong relationships with building and construction industries architects, project managers, marine engineering industries, manufacturing industries,) aligning with potential clients and most importantly bringing on lots of new business from Building and Construction Industry. You will be an experienced Business Development Manager who loves the hunt and never misses an opportunity to move on a new lead or secure even the toughest or challenging of deals. You will already have multiple Auckland contacts within your network, strong business acumen and superior negotiating skills coupled with the ability to provide technical advice. The main focus of the role will be bringing on new business and to strengthen relationships within your existing prospect client base in the building and construction industry; which of course you will build based on trust, credibility and backing by a quality product and service. Although an autonomous and flexible role that will be driven by your activity levels, you will be reporting back to the National Marketing Manager. You will have sales targets and base line levels of minimum activity to reach / exceed and will be expected to deliver in the form of new business which will be measured by increased sales. You will also complete sales budgets and forecasts for the region, assist in the development of marketing plans and initiatives and work closely with staff and the team, so fantastic communication skills are highly important. To be successful in this role you will need to be organised, a true "hunter", self motivated, well planned, and excellent communicator and perhaps come from engineering or building construction background.
