PACIFIC ADVISORY GROUP POSITIONS

Auckland War Memorial Museum: Connecting through sharing stories of people, lands and seas
Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Auckland's identity, committed to outstanding management of its world-class collections and the employees and volunteers who tell the Museum's stories. We are Auckland’s home of commemoration as well as the country's oldest research institution and a major tourist destination.
Auckland Museum is proud to have a robust Pacific dimension and is working to build on this to ensure our Pacific collections and communities are embraced and celebrated. The Auckland Museum Pacific Advisory Group (PAG) assists the Museum in strengthening this Pacific dimension, alongside the Museums Pacific strategy entitledTeu Le V?.The aim is to reflect Auckland's rich, contemporary Pacific culture, improve the under-representation of visitation by Pacific people, and increase their engagement with the Museum.
The AM Pacific Advisory Group is now open to receiving expressions of interest for three new members, one of which is aYouthposition .
The group meets bi-monthly, and members are committed to attending at least 70% of these meetings.
To be prosperous in this function, you will:
   » be of Pacific descent
   » have a good expertise of Pacific communities
   » understand and support diverse Pacific cultures
   » have practice with governance or leadership abilities and advisory functions
   » understand the Museums direction and Teu Le V? strategy
   » have solid skills or skills in a particular field of work or study
The fees set out below will be made to each member per attendance at the bi-monthly meetings. For any meetings in addition to this or sub-committee work a separate fee will be negotiated and paid. The amount covers all costs including travel, reading and preparation, meeting times, as well as any Museum event(s) that PAG members may be called upon as a PAG representative. Meeting fees will not be paid for meetings that members are unable to attend.
Chairperson (up to 8 hours work): $500
Member (up to 5 hours work): $250
