Job Description

Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
We want to hear from Analysts and Senior Analysts who are interested in a permanent or fixed term function. We are also happy to consider a secondments.
The Strategy and Policy group is tasked with designing and driving how government agencies work together to improve wellbeing. We achieve this through:
   » Maintaining a reputation for delivering first class advice to the Government of the day
   » Supporting the implementation of the Public Service Act 2020 and wider public service change agenda
   » Providing skills and thought leadership abilities on machinery of government and the public management system
   » Developing innovative, data and evidence driven approaches that enhance the future performance of public services, and

The practice, knowledge and skills We are seeking for are:
   » A tertiary qualification in a significant discipline and/or equivalent practice in a policy function,
   » Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal with the capability to present complex matters simply,
   » A strong level of knowledge and knowledge of Tikanga M?ori and Te Ao M?ori, knowledge of Te Reo M?ori is an advantage
   » A sound knowledge of the implications of Te Tiriti o Waitangi on today's society and public service
   » practice of the government environment and capability to navigate the complex policy issues to provide the best advice and solutions for Ministers, and
   » Strong influencing skills, able to build momentum and support for new ideas and ways of working.

Depending on skills and practice the Analyst position usually pays between $67,840 to $89,040 and the Senior Analyst position usually pays between $92,560 to $121,485.
