Job Opportunity: Manager, System and Agency Performance:Public Service CommissionJob description:Job DescriptionTe Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.Due to a recent promotion, we have a tier 3 manager function vacant in the System and Agency Performance Group. The manager is responsible for leading the team that undertakes one of the Public Service Commissioner's core functions - chief executive appointments and employment; the recruitment, appointment, employment and succession planning of departmental secretaries and chief executives in the Public Service. The team also supports the appointment of various statutory agents. To be prosperous in these functions you will have: » excellent judgement, of both people and processes; » broad public sector practice; » practice in managing teams of people with the capability to bring people together to deliver a complex work programme; » practice of working closely with and advising senior executives on significant decisions; » a sound knowledge of the machinery of government, and practice in navigating sensitive issues; » the capability to lead and develop new and challenging ways of thinking about issues; and » an knowledge of recruitment processes, and how to manage for risks and opportunities.
