Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
The positions sit within Te Arom?tai Whakatutukitanga | System and Agency Performance Group which supports the Commission's vision and objectives for the public service by ensuring we have strong leadership abilities and governance of public service and public sector agencies.
Our work includes:
   » supporting the appointment of world class leaders to Secretary and Chief Executive positions in our public service
   » knowledge the performance of the system and agencies
   » providing support for Secretaries and chief executives to be prosperous in their functions, in their careers, and in their broader lives
   » providing guidance and support to enhance the monitoring and governance of Crown entities.
As an Advisor, you will work closely with the Senior and Principal Advisor's within the CEDAR (Chief Executive Appointment, Development and Remuneration) Team with the appointment of Public Service Secretaries and Chief Executives. This is one of the key functions of the Public Service Commission where the CEDAR Team supports the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners in making critical decisions though the appointment process. You will get to practice, and contribute to, the wide breadth of exciting work being led right across the SAPG (System and Agency Performance) Group.
You will also manage the day-to-day Chief Executive Recruitment Inbox and answer all questions and queries relating to payroll, wellbeing and annual leave. Your function will provide ad-hoc support to the commission's succession program and work alongside the senior advisor responsible for all chief executive remuneration matters.
In this function, you will work with practiced leaders to shape the public service. You will also get exposure to a wide variety of issues impacting the direction and performance of the public service and public service agencies.
Through your work, you will make an important contribution towards creating a leading edge, unified, trusted public service that serves Aotearoa. Your strong relationship management expertise will enable you to build trusted relationships with senior leaders across the public service.

We are seeking for candidates who:
   » have strong analytical and problem-solving expertise, with an capability to develop quality advice to inform or influence decision makers
   » have excellent written and oral communication expertise, with the capability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
   » have a demonstrated capacity to engage with stakeholders and build significant relationships and networks
   » work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member
   » manage tasks and competing priorities, anticipate and meet the needs of stakeholders.
practice in either a HR or Recruitment, and/or HR, Organisational Design, Remuneration advisory or consultancy function are desirable, but not essential. We are open to hearing from individuals that could bring a range of expertise to the function.

The Advisor function usually pays between $72,300 to $84,800 depending on expertise and practice.
