Surveying/Cost Planning » » » Building Construction Project Engineer / Quality Assurance Construction Inspector required for Contract in South Waikato. As the successful candidate, you will need to be a self-starter who is highly motivated, well organized and committed to the highest possible work standards. You'll be working under the Project Manager, who will be overseeing the project and will have continuing involvement and giving support within the role. The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience: » Quantity Surveying related degree or diploma in civil engineering » 2+ years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in Building Construction Industry » Building Structures and Civil experience required » Excellent verbal and written communication skills » A passion for health, safety and the environment » You are comfortable with technology and applications Your responsibilities: » Assist the Project Manager in planning and managing on-site activities to ensure the targets are met » Conduct inspections and audits, propose suitable solutions to the risks you've identified 50% site based with tablet, 50% site office based » Monitor and oversee the maintenance of up-to-date project documentation » Keep records of the construction activities in compliance with the project specification » Work with the other engineers to support the construction teams on site » Stakeholder management and liaison This is a 4-6month Contract. However future opportunities are available for someone with the right attitude and enthusiasm. You MUST be able to pass pre-employment drug screening. You will also be required to complete a Ministry of Justice Check, Health Declaration and provide 2 recent work referees' that we can contact.
