Maintenance FitterLocation Manukau & East AucklandAuckland Job type Full Time Salary to Category Manufacturing/Operations > Fitters & Machinists » Full time permanent role » Trade qualified Machine Maintenance Fitter » Penrose base Maintenance Fitter Penrose based There is an opportunity available for a Maintenance Fitter to join my client's Auckland operation located at Great South Road, Penrose. Reporting to the Engineering & Reliability Manager, your duties will include being hands on member of the maintenance team, ensuring high quality maintenance services are provided in a timely, efficient, and cooperative manger. You will be responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance as planned and delegated by the Supervisor. You will also be required to carry out all on site mechanical repairs, prioritising any new requests made during the shift and make informed decisions regarding outstanding work orders, insert history, book hours and close out work orders. This is a diverse and varied role where you will be working closely with the Maintenance Team, responsibilities of the role will include, but will not be limited to: » Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks on the machinery in plant » Overhauling ancillaries and assemblies to support production requirements » Trouble shooting, machine inspections and attending to repairs and breakdowns of plant manufacturing equipment and building services maintenance. » Maintain awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to safety, quality, and the environment » Support on project work (major and minor rebuild and maintenance) » Ad hoc duties as required This is a permanent role, minimum 44 hours per week, rotating shift, including 4 on 4 off. What you will bring to the team: As the new maintenance fitter, you will have a Mechanical trade qualification, with demonstrated industrial experience. You'll be familiar with working in a manufacturing environment (medium or fast paced manufacturing environment experience will be highly regarded). You'll have an exceptional ability for fault finding and diagnostics, able to read and mark up engineering drawings, have strong written and verbal communication and value the safety of yourself and others above all else. » Trade Qualification (level 4 in mechanical/maintenance engineering minimum) » Knowledge in using/working with CMMS systems (SAP in particular) would be advantageous » Have experience with FMCG » Display good problem solving/ fault finding ability and be able to read and mark up engineering drawings » Strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices » Ability to work under urgency and pressure while maintaining high standards » Proficient in written and communication skills » Be a team player with a "can do" attitude » Be able to demonstrate a total commitment to quality to assist the company achieve its Best Practice targets » A current driver's license is essential and forklift license, boom lift and confined space licenses are nice to have. » Value the safety of yourself and others above all else The company offers a remuneration package that includes competitive wage, penal rates and allowances, Southern Cross healthcare and more.
